Special thanks to Bari and Barry Olson, who decided that this 50th anniversary year could not be allowed to go by without this special reunion. They planned it, thought of every detail, picked a location and menu, involved others, and contacted and invited as many class members as possible.
Special thanks also to Scott Bowen for generously volunteering to provide the food for everyone.
Bari and Barry also took photos. Anyone else who took photos is invited to email them to yhigh@ymail.com so we can share them here.
We reflected on the class members who have passed on with a moment of silence, and thought fondly of those unable to attend for one reason or another (see lists below photo section). We sang the school song (surprisingly well). Then the microphone was passed around to everyone who wanted to say a few words, and the program went long!
It was great to see Tom Mitchell, a decendant of Karl G. Maeser, and his wife Donnie, although Tom said it has been a long time since he has seen any of us!
Scott Bowen summed up what many others said:"BY High was a great place to grow up. I loved that it was small enough that you knew everyone. We had great teachers and had a lot of fun. I was grateful that we were small enough that I was able to participate in team sports even though I wasn't very talented. We learned wonderful life lessons in those halls and carrels. I'm very glad I was there."

45th Year Anniversary Reunion

The 45th Year Reunion of the BYH Class of 1966 was held on Friday, July 1, 2011. A backyard barbeque, fully catered by Goodwood Barbeque Company, was held at the home of Brent Peterson, 349 East 4450 North, Provo, Utah 84604. The festivities begam at 6 pm and continued until the last guest left. The cost was $25 per person, and the deadline for RSVPs was June 20, 2011. Check were made payable to Brent Peterson, who made the food arrangements.

40th Year Reunion

The Brigham Young High School 40th Year Reunion for the Class of 1966, including honorary members, was held on Saturday evening, July 1, 2006, in the 1892 Education Building on Academy Square, Provo. Some arrived early to visit. Most, however, arrived at 5 p.m. to socialize. A group photograph of classmates was taken on the front steps just before dinner, followed by a group photo of classmates and spouses on the north interior stairway. Sherm Smith welcomed everyone, dinner was served, and the program began at 6 p.m. Each classmate present was able to stand and speak for several minutes.
