"Babe" Shipman, 91, peacefully left this world on May 22, 2011 as a beloved husband of LouAnne of nearly 65 years and father of five children. Babe took over the family tradition by operating one of the oldest businesses in Provo, Provo Bakery. For over 50 years he brought joy to many in the Provo community with his delious baked goods. He called Provo his home from birth through 1991 when he and his wife moved to the Phoenix area to retire. For those of us lucky enough to have known and loved him, he will be missed as part of our daily lives and part of our holiday dinner table and post dinner card games. He truly was an amazing man, loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, four children (Anne Riley, Jerry Shipman, Steve Shipman, and Kristen Jordison), nine grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Married Kristine Hammond and had four children: Ryan (Andrea), Corey (Kirsten), Nikel and Stacy. Later divorced. Married Katherine Bergeson in February 1995 and had two stepchildren: Max and Catie. Born August 30, 1928 in Elsinore, a son of Grant Christensen, and Erma Jensen Christensen. Married LuDean Brown on March 15, 1951 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Richard retired from Hercules after 18 years service. He enjoyed the outdoors, visiting his cabin, and participating in activities there. He dearly loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed living in St. George during the winter. Survived by his wife, LuDean Brown Christensen; sons: Greg L. (Sue) Christensen, West Jordan; Kim B. His step-father: Pender LeRoy Jennings, Jr., age 91, passed away January 19, 2004, at the Veterans Hospital in Salt Lake. He was born November 7, 1912 in Saltillo, Texas to Pender LeRoy Jennings, Sr. and Maggie King. He married Melba Louise Bailey Brown in 1945. Pender entered the Navy as a Seaman Apprentice, and retired as a Commander. He was present at the signing of the treaty which ended World War II. He was a member of Retriever Club in the Great Salt Lake area and in the Northern Utah area. After his retirement, he sold real estate in Provo, and raised Field Trial Retrievers. Pender is survived by his daughter, Dallyne Brown [BYH Class of 1952] (David) Crowton of Torrey, Utah; eight grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; six great- great- grandchildren; and one sister, Elba Wilder of Mt. Vernon, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife Melba; and a step-son, Richard A. Jennings-Brown [BYH Class of 1955]; two brothers and one sister. Viva Brown Stanger, 63, of Provo died Monday, December 1, 1997 at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo. She was born January 10, 1934 in Colonia Chuichupe, Chichuahua Mexico (Mormon Colonies in Mexico), the daughter of Delbert Brigham and Irene Whetten Brown. She married Ronald Ray Stanger on October 4, 1955 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died May 12, 1994. When she was ten years old her family moved to the United States, living in first Arizona, then in Colorado, and finally settling in Provo, Utah in 1947. She attended the Farrer Junior High School and graduated from BY High. She also attended Brigham Young University. She worked with her husband Ron in his law practice in Provo for some 30 years. Viva was a homemaker and mother of five children. Her hobbies included music, gardening, scrapbooking, family history, and devoting countless hours to her family and church. She was a member of the LDS Church and served in many capacities including ward music leader and primary president. Survivors include four sons and one daughter: Ronald Allen Stanger, David Craig Stanger, Michael Ray Stanger, Robert Brown Stanger, Diane S. Fowles; 12 grandchildren two brothers and three sisters: Mrs. Delbert (Irene) Hessler, Mrs. Don (Martha) Rasmussen, Mrs. Ted (Nila) Miller, Delbert B. Brown, Leslie Brown. Wanda Brown Morley, 89, of Provo, Utah quietly slipped from her mortal sojourn on June 13, 2015 into the welcoming arms of her late husband, Stewart [also BYH Class of 1944]. She was surrounded by family. Wanda - wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma and great-great-grandma - was born in Provo, Utah to Paul (Pa) and Helen (Mom) Brown, February 10, 1926. She married her high school hero, Stewart, on April 1, 1945 in Overton, Nevada while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. Wanda and Stewart were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. A graduate of BY High School, Class of 1944, Wanda was active in many organizations and activities, notably as a drummer in the marching band. She later earned a nursing degree becoming an obstetrics Registered Nurse while raising eight children. A devoted wife and companion to her husband, together they lived in many locales during Dad’s tenure as a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation including Dallas, Texas, Kansas City, Missouri, Minneapolis, Minnesota, San Francisco and Stockton, California, finally retiring to their home town of Provo, Utah in 1977. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Wanda served in many capacities and callings including girl’s camp nurse. Wanda was preceded in death by husband, Stewart and brothers, Billie and Stanley. She is survived by eight children: Terry (Teena), Camille (Phil), Tony (Taia), John Edward (Mary), Isaac, Eric, Bradley (Carey), Becky; 21 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren; and younger sisters, Pauline Knight and Helen Clegg. Never one to call attention to herself, Mom achieved much yet always boasted the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. To the end she read widely and voraciously consuming several books a week. A listening ear, a soft shoulder, Mom provided a warm, inviting home and refuge — especially when her cinnamon rolls and rice pudding were in the oven. He married his high school sweetheart, Wanda Brown, on April 1, 1945 in Overton, Nevada while serving in the Army Air Corps. Stewart and Wanda were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Stewart was a graduate of BY High School, Class of 1944, and was captain of the football team. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Brigham Young University. Stewart was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and gave many years of devoted service assigned to many posts throughout the country including Kansas City, Missouri, Minneapolis, Minnesota, San Francisco and Stockton, California, finally retiring to his home town Provo, Utah in 1982. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Stewart served in many capacities and leadership positions. He is survived by his beloved wife Wanda of 67 years, eight children, Terry (Teena), Tony (Taia) Camille, John Edward (Mary), Isaac, Eric, Bradley (Carey), Becky, and 21 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, as well as sisters Marilyn Washburn, Diane Hellstrom, Janet Taylor and brother Dr. Gerald Morley. Father, Dad, Grandpa was an example to all by his willingness to tackle any project and see it through to the end. His quiet strength and loving devotion to his family has given solace to many in times of need and crisis. We'll all miss nibbling on the fruits of his labor in his legendary bounteous vegetable garden. He was bit by the fishing bug, a passion that has been robustly embraced by later generations. Class of 1944. Clyde Brunson. ~ ~ ~ ~ HIS FATHER: Clyde Fackrell Brunson, 98, died in Modesto, California on March 14, 1996. He was born in Fillmore, Utah, November 27, 1897, the son of Charles Abraham and Christina Fackrell Brunson. He graduated from Fillmore High School and served in World War I. He graduated from the University of Utah and taught at the School for the Deaf and Mute in Ogden for four years. He married Rachel Mifflin in the Salt Lake Temple. He went to dental school at Northwestern University in Chicago, graduating with honors in 1931. He practiced dentistry in Fillmore, Utah, for about 10 years, and 35 years in Salt Lake City, where he had his office in the Tribune Building. After retiring they moved to Modesto, California about 1978. Rachel died in 1983. He had always been an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his four sisters, Rachel Warner, Salt Lake City; Ruth Peterson, Lehi; Algie Stephenson, Fillmore, and Olive (Eldon) Partridge, Salt Lake City/Mesa, Ariz.; five children, Clyde M. Brunson (Margorie)[or Marjorie], San Bernardino, California; John M. Brunson (Claudette), Mesa, Ariz.; Bruce B. Brunson (Camilla), W. His hobby was glass-blowing. Loren C. Bryner married Maurine Fillmore Bryner September 10, 1930, in the Manti Temple. She was born May 7, 1906, in Richfield, Utah to Angus and Belle Gardner Fillmore. She graduated from Richfield High School and Brigham Young University in 1927. She taught Home Economics at Manti High School, Lehi High School, B.Y. High School and Brigham Young University. She was a member of Beta Sorosis Women's Club. She served on the B.Y.U. Alumni Board. She was active in the Artist Section of the Women's Council. She was in the Chemistry Wives Catalyst Club, DUP, B.Y.U. Emeritus, B.Y.U. Women, and American Association of University Women. She is survived by: Her two sons, Loren Conrad Bryner, Provo; Paul D. Bryner, Brigham City, Utah; and one daughter, Judith M. Pobanz, Ogden. She had 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by: five brothers, Dr. James Fillmore, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mr. Winston Fillmore, Salt Lake City; Mr. Hughes Hanchett, Tucson, Ariz.; Dr. Paul Fillmore, Ventura, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Belle Stewart, who lives in Provo, Utah. She was preceded in death by a brother, Parker Fillmore, and a sister, Elithe Cannon, Salt Lake City.
